Good news, and not so good, for Moruya Probus committee

MORUYA Probus Committee received some good news at its meeting on Tuesday, and some not so good.

Members were told there were applications from two locals for membership, and approved them joining. However the meeting, held at Moruya Golf Club, received Netta Behringer’s notice of resignation from the post of vice-president due to health problems. Her resignation was accepted, with regret.

Members were reminded that the Christmas luncheon would be held at the Golf Club on December 11. The first monthly luncheon for 2019 will be at the Adelaide Hotel on January 15.

Eleven members have put down their names for an outing to Tuross with the Classic and Vintage Motor Club of the Eurobodalla on November 28, the day after the monthly meeting that will have Rudi Langevelt of Bingie Bingie as guest speaker, talking about Air B&B.

After some discussion the committee decided to explore the possibilities of having a committee with members of Moruya, Narooma, Batemans Bay and Tollgates Probus Clubs to organise joint outings rather than individual clubs arranging theirs.

Moruya Probus was formed in 1964, at first with men only but becoming a mixed club in 2006. It meets at Moruya Golf Club every fourth Tuesday in the month, starting at ten-o’clock but has many more social gatherings during the year. There are many advantages to belonging, including discounts related to travel and accommodation, including travel insurance.
