Hospital idea for Nth Head Moruya

The Beagle Editor, It has just been announced that 150 million dollars has been allocated to build a new centralized hospital in the Eurobodalla. More than 20 years ago this idea was first floated by myself and a couple of others and suggested the perfect position to the powers that be and were totally ignored so I now write to firstly ask our council to just for once show some commonsense and for your readers and the public as a whole to embrace my idea and then instead of having the usual 10 year talkfest just get the bloody thing done. My suggestion was to build a new hospital at North Head in Moruya on the site of the camping area and I wanted to include an aged care facility and also some form of resort accommodation for international tourists who could be flown in and out and of course incorporate a heli pad. Let alone the initial employment in construction there could be so much more ongoing permanent employment well into the future. My plan also included diverting the Princes Highway just south of Moruya near Noads road and bringing it straight through with a new bridge over the river so traffic flows straight onto George Bass drive at the airport and then linking up with the Batemans Bay spine road thus giving Narooma and Batemans Bay residents a direct route straight to the hospital and this will also see an end to the madness and congestion we see on most weekends and especially in tourist season in Moruya's CBD.

Of course some residents in that area maybe affected but if you look at Wollongong and numerous other cities noise barriers seem to work very well according to residents so can those residents accept some progress for once in the interest of the greater community instead of just exercising their right to object because they can. So I just ask council especially to get on board and push for the extra funding and the public to have a think about it and you will see it is such an obvious solution then lets just get it done .
