Moruya District Hospital Auxiliary presented with a Merit Award for raising over $100,000


Moruya District Hospital Auxiliary members recently attended the United Hospital Auxiliaries 85th Annual State Conference held at Bankstown. Attending the conference representing the Moruya District Hospital Auxiliary were Kath Smith, Secretary and Julie Corkin, President Kath said "The Conference is an opportunity to network with members of other branches throughout New South Wales and share ideas."

"Business Day saw a presentation by speaker Prof Brad Frankum OAM and also a Debate on Resolutions.

"The Presentation Day was attended by of our Patron Mrs Linda Hurley, wife of his Excellency the Honourable David Hurley Governor of NSW, together with Prof Gordian Fulde OA Head Of Emergency with both presenting Life Memberships.

"Our State Treasurer announced in her 2017-2018 financial report declaring that the Auxiliaries, through the 190 branches and 5,419 members had raised Net $6,109,068.70 and Gifted $5,140,657.24 for the comfort and care of patients in hospitals, Multipurpose Services (MPS) and Community Health throughout NSW. "Members were congratulated on the total hours volunteered 970,952 which equates to 532 full time employees. Our South Eastern Region (9 branches) gifted $359,268.06 WHAT A RESULT in such hard times for our country branches.

Kath concluded that "Moruya District Hospital Auxiliary was presented with a Merit Award Certificate for raising over $100,000 net. Auxiliaries throughout NSW could not achieve these wonderful results without our communities and w thank them for their continual support."
