Tuross Head Country Club men's golf Saturday October 20th


Tuross Head Country Club men's golf players braved the threatening weather conditions last Saturday and most golfers completed their round prior to an anticipated heavy storm arriving. Greg Booth emerged as the winner of the par event with a score of plus 3 edging out Rob Josifovski on a countback. Michael Allen filled second with plus 2. Stephen Swanbury also returned a plus 2 card and Leigh Coloe's plus 1 scored the remaining award spot. Nearest the pins were won by Colin Houghton in the A grade division with a very close 40 centimetres on the 4th hole. Colin also won the 7th hole with 5.5 m. Brad Doolan was best on the 6th with 2.01 m. B grade player John Phyland won the 4th hole with 4.23 m. Frank Pomfret the 6th with 2.81 m and Greg Smith the 7th with 1.83 m Chris Cox was the best of the C graders with 2.5 m on the 4th hole and John Sands was closest on the 7th with 6.92 m. The coming Saturday round is a 2 Ball Best Ball Single Stableford compeition. Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Bob Hay with a high 40 points ahead of Glen Shearer and Brad Doolan both on 35 points. Dorothy Madden's 33 points saw her take out the remaining award position. Peter Dugan, Brad Doolan and Colin Houghton won the closest to the pin prizes.
