Photographer in Antarctica

Rob Geraghty, who is an excellent photographer and seasoned traveller, treated the members of The Eurobodalla Photographic Club, at their August meeting, to a talk about his recent trip to Antarctica.

Rob’s talk included amazing photographs of scenery and wildlife in the Falkland Islands, South Georgia as well at the Antarctic itself.

Rob described the special photographic challenges of taking great shots in the Antarctic environment.

The Eurobodalla Photographic Club enlisted the services of well known local photographer, Ted Richards, as the judge for their meeting.

Ted is a retired commercial photographer and his decades of experience showed in his critiques of the photos submitted.

The subject for the month was ‘looking down’ and the photographers interpreted that in many different and interesting photographs.

The competition winners for the month were:

Gold. David Kemp- “QVB”

Brian Gunter- “Been Fishing”

Brian Gunter- “Spiral Staircase” which was also awarded “Image of the Night”

Silver. Sue Hartland- “Not Again”

Merrick Bailey- “Let’s Go”

Sue Hartland- “Glacier From 30,000 feet”

Karen Ressiner- “Bromeliad”

Merrick Bailey- “Ringo”.
