Tuross Head golfer Tim Watson scores an eagle


Tuross Head Country Club men's golf stableford competition was won by a David Wilson, a visitor from Howlong, with an excellent score of 44 points. Gerald Strickland filled second placing with 40 followed by Greg Smith 39 and Terry Milliken and Bruce Martin who both returned scores of 38 points.

The highlight of the day was an eagle scored by Tim Watson on the par 5 tenth hole.

The 2 ball multiplier competition held in conjunction with the single stableford round was won by the team of David Wilson and Ian Shephard.

Nearest the pins were won by A grade golfer Dave Bray on the 4th hole with 0.84 nm.

Colin Houghton won the 6th with 4.28 m and M. Booth was closest on the 7th with 5.26 m.

B grade player Peter Garn was closest on the 4th hole with 1.96 m. and Tony Brown was best on the 6th with 3.77 m.

Colin Fletcher was best of the C grade division with 1.24 m on the 4th and Michael Kermode won the 6th with 2.92 m.

The coming Saturday event is the monthly medal stroke and putt round.

Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Bruce Threlfo with 39 points ahead of Ian Manton 38, Colin Houghton 38 and Bruce Martin 37 points.

The Tuross Head Country Club lady golfers are holding a Charity Day fund raiser on Tuesday September 4th in aid of Moruya Hospital.

The event is a four person Ambrose medley competition open to visitors and local golfers.

Members are asked to make a special effort to support this event which is held in aid of a very worthy organisation.
