Tomakin to be laid bare for Probus

“UNDISCOVERED history of Tomakin” will be revealed at the July meeting of Moruya Probus Club. Acting guest speaker officer Ingrid Petts told Tuesday’s committee meeting guest speaker Mark Young promised a very interesting talk.

She said the speaker at the August meeting would be Rohan Gleeson who would talk about the NBN.

It was a brief meeting with membership officer Vince Fisher submitting two new members for the committee’s approval, which was forthcoming. They will probably be inducted at the next monthly meeting, on July 24.

Members discussed with tours officer Netta Berringer a proposed cruise on the Clyde River with September 4 being pencilled in as the probable date. There was also discussion of the invitation by the Classic and Vintage Motor Club of Eurobodalla for Probus members to be passengers on a Wednesday club run and it was decided to leave making that date until warmer weather.

Moruya Probus meets at Moruya Golf Club at ten-o’clock on the fourth Tuesday of each month with potential new members always more than welcome. Membership officer Vince’s ‘phone number is 4471 7675.

There are many advantages with being a member of Probus. Apart from meeting new friends, and sometimes some old ones, there are opportunities of being involved in outings. There are discounts for some members with restaurants and hotels and more reasonable travel insurance rates that seniors may otherwise be offered.
