Moruya Caring Group launched

The Moruya Caring Group is a new local organisation designed to help people who are unable to get assistance from other places. It is based on the successful Tuross Caring Group which has been going for the past 5 years and is an initiative of the Moruya Catholic Parish.

The Group is designed to help people with minor maintenance such as changing light fittings, travel assistance to appointments when Community Transport is unavailable, home visits and support for carers.

All help is provided by volunteers free of charge and helpers are covered by insurance and a Working With Children Check. The Group has a mobile phone for which the number is 0431 354993. Anyone who needs help in the community only needs to call the number and their details will be taken with a volunteer assigned to them.

There will be an initial information session for the Moruya Caring Group at 11.15am on Sunday, 24 Jun at the Catholic Presbytery in Queen Street, Moruya, just next to the Catholic Church. Tea and coffee will be provided and anyone interested in either volunteering or seeking assistance from the Moruya Caring Group is welcome to attend. More information can be gained from Pat Anderson on 0431 354993.
