Man charged after woman dies, two men injured on Far South Coast


A man has been charged after a woman died and two men were critically injured on the Far South Coast yesterday.

Just after 3.30pm (Friday 1 June 2018), a 71-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were stabbed in their home in East Street, Bega.

The woman died at the South East Regional Hospital and the man remains in a critical condition in Canberra Hospital.

A 55-year-old man, who was allegedly struck in the head with a hammer during a carjacking, remains in a critical condition in St George Hospital.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder and two counts of wound with intent to murder.

He was refused bail and is expected to appear in Batemans Bail Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 3 June 2018).
