Narooma Camera Club May meeting

15th May 2018 – Our set subject for the night was “Typically Australian Theme” which had a large number of entries in our monthly competition night. Our Set Subject had some interesting photos with 5 awards being given by our judge, in Division B we had some interesting entries and there was 3 awards. Our Judge was very impressed with the quality of work submitted in both A and B Divisions. Our Open Subject was very interesting this month with a wide variety of subjects being entered. A special thanks to Judge: Gillianne Tedder - not only for her judging but also for her great presentation at the end of the judging but also for showing us her photos and explaining the uses of the polarising filter. We all enjoyed her showing us with and without images to inspire some of us to get out and about and play with our polarising filters more to see the differences that can be obtained in our photos. So for our next competition in June the Set Subject is Movement Some ideas are: People, animals, vehicles, waterfalls and machinery all make good subjects. Remember that movement can still be portrayed by freezing action with a fast shutter speed. Try panning fast moving items such as cars or motorbikes. Alternatively use a slow shutter speed to get the feeling of movement. The competition results were as follows: Digital Div.
