EUROBODALLA WALKING FOR PLEASURE for June

All walks begin at 11am sharp and last 1 to 1½ hours, or less, depending on one's ability. Afterwards enjoy a BYO picnic lunch together. Bring a chair/seat to be comfortable, good walking shoes, protection from the weather and a drink. So come walking, make new friends, and enjoy yourself. Please note that the walks are never cancelled due to the weather.

JUNE 2018

6 JUNE 29th BIRTHDAY BBQ, EUROBODALLA REGIONAL BOTANIC GARDEN

NOTE THE NEW LOCATION

Booking is required

Turn off the Princes Highway 5 km south of Batemans Bay into Deep Creek Dam Road and drive 500m to the Garden Entrance and park in the Garden parking area. We meet in the Pavilion—above the top of the lawn outside the Visitor Centre. Bring insect repellent in case the mosquitoes are bad.

This week is the 29th Birthday of the Eurobodalla Walking for Pleasure Group. The celebration will be a delicious BBQ lunch, complete with salads, slices, birthday cake and a glass of wine. Please bring a plate, wine glass, knife and fork. This year the cost is $5 for members (2018 name tag), and a charge of $8 per member's guest.. The walk will be around the Garden, followed by the BBQ.

13 JUNE SOUTH DURRAS: LAKESIDE BOAT RAMP

Head north on the Princes Highway over the Clyde River Bridge at Batemans Bay. About 9.5 km north of the bridge turn right into Durras Road. Follow Durras Road for about 6 km and then turn left into Durras Lake Drive (first major turn to the left), then left again into Lakeside Drive. Follow Lakeside Drive through to just before the boat ramp behind Lakesea Caravan Park. The walk today will be behind the Caravan Park to the beach, south along the beach to Durras Drive, then back along Durras Lake Road and Lakeside Drive to the cars for lunch

20 JUNE BATEMANS BAY: SURFSIDE PARK TO MARINA

Today meet at Surfside Park at the northern end of the Clyde River bridge. Head north on the Princes Highway and cross the Clyde River bridge at Batemans Bay. Continue a short distance to the roundabout and go right around the roundabout, heading back to the Bay. Just before the bridge, turn left into Wharf Road and then right to the park. We will walk over the bridge onto the promenade, follow this to the Marina and then return for a well-deserved lunch and chat.

27 JUNE LILLI PILLI BEACH: FAIRVIEW DRIVE

NOTE THE CHANGED LOCATION

Drive along George Bass Drive to Lilli Pilli and turn into Fairview Drive, which is a loop road. Park around and near the little park on Fairview Drive above the beach, which is where lunch will be, NOT down behind the beach. Today walkers can choose between two walks. The stronger walkers may wish to walk along Lilli Pilli Beach, then around the headland to Circuit Beach and Denise Drive. While this is a beautiful scenic walk, it is narrower than usual and mostly single file.

Other walkers may prefer to walk along Fairview Drive to the headland above Mosquito Bay and then return to walk along Lilli Pilli Beach.
