Veteran Ian Wratten blows the field away in Vets Golf Stroke and Putts


On what was a coolish start to the day a field of 58 players registered for today's Stroke and Putts event. Results on the day were as follows:

1st: Ian Wratten with an unbelievable nett score of 26 for the nine holes.

2nd: Errol Soden with an equally impressive 29.

3rd: Rick Brake on 32 on count back.

Ball or Chocolate:

Greg Thornton on 32, Kevin Dukes and Tim Starr on 33, Sandra Hanlon, Steve Swanbury, Steve Johnston and Neal Watson on 34, Barry Hoban, Derek Hoare, and Leonie Snodgrass on 35, and finally Ray Downey, John Cox, Des Jackson and Ian Miller all on 36.

Putts:

Steve Johnston was the master of the putting greens taking only 12 putts for the nine holes played.

Bradman Award:

Suffering the flu, and with an unbelievable 19 on the 7th hole par 3, Mike Birks was the undisputed recipient of this week's Bradman award.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Leonie Snodgrass.

6th: Frank Pomfret.

Ladies 7th: Teri Swanbury.

Men's 7th: Ken Brown.

Accuracy:

Having a good day all round, Leonie Snodgrass caped off her day with a win in the Accuracy drive this week.

Next Week:

Next week's game is a 2 Person Irish Team Stableford event for which event instructions will be available on the day. Registration is from 7.45am in the downstairs sports bar area with a shotgun start at 8.30am.
