Higher Handicappers take out Tuross 2 Person Ambrose Event


On what was a beautiful Autumn morning a good field of 56 players registered for this morning’s 2 Person Ambrose event. Results on the day were as follows:

1st: The pairing of Solveig Olsson and Tony Crook with a remarkable net score of 28.75.

2nd: Wal Williams and Andrew Gordon on 29.75.

3rd: Graham Moore and Des Jackson with 32.5.

Ball or Chocolate:

Mike Birks and Herb Muriwai on 32.75, Ian and Jeanette Miller, Mike Kermode and Robert McKirdy, Chris and Ian Wratten, and finally Allen Gannon and Michael Godford all on 33.5, followed by David Williams and Allen Lee on 34.25.

Bradman Award:

Troubled by the handicapper after recent good scores, Leonie Snodgrass and Steve Johnson were surprise winners of this week’s infamous award.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Peg Nevett, in the hole.

6th: Des Jackson.

Ladies 7th: Leonie Snodgrass.

Men’s 7th: Andrew Gordon, in the hole.

Accuracy:

Lyn Benger struck one down the middle this morning to take out this week’s award.

Elaine Jennings trophy for Lady Players:

Last week was the third and final round of the Elaine Jennings trophy for lady players. This trophy is presented annually by long term Veteran golfer Noel Fletcher in memory of his late partner Elaine. After a particularly close finish this year’s winner is Jeanette Miller from runner up Gail Rogers.

Next Week:

Next week’s game will be a Stroke and Putts event with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.
