Narooma Camera Club News - April


Our set subject for the night was “A River Somewhere” in our monthly competition night and there were several high standard entries. There were a large number of entrants in Division A with - 2 Gold and 2 Silver with a highly commended awards were given. In division B we had some interesting entries and there was 1 Gold and 1 Silver. Our Open Subject in both grades came forward with some interesting and very colourful images. A special thanks to Judge: David Cotton not only for his judging but also for his fantastic discussion after the judging. So for our next competition in June the Set Subject is Movement Tip ideas: People, animals, vehicles, waterfalls and machinery all make good subjects. Remember that movement can still be portrayed by freezing action with a fast shutter speed. Try panning fast moving items such as cars or motorbikes. Alternatively use a slow shutter speed to get the feeling of movement. The competition results were as follows:

We continued this month with the printed subject material – not just digital format, anyone could enter with 1 set print and one open print. Was good to see so many people give it a go
