Double standards applied to Coastal innundation vs loss due to fire

Having watched the story of the Tathra fires unfold on-line, I could not help but be disgusted with the disingenuous 'Climate Changed' based Coastal Management Policy of Council and State/Federal Govts.

Climate Change advocates claim that, apart from sea level rise, we will have more droughts, fires, extreme weather events,etc. Yet, with this fire emergency, Minister Constance and the Prime Minister were in the media apparently offering support (both moral and financial) to this community in need. The stories of people successfully defending their homes while all those around were destroyed and homes that were 'miraculously spared' are in stark contrast to how they are dealing with the supposed ever-creeping threat of the much predicted sea level rise that also is set to threaten homes. The immediate threat of sea level rise is that it has already had dire consequences to thousands living on the NSW seaboard following the recent announcement of the endorsement of the Coastal Management Act. The immediate result is the immediate devaluing of properties and the increase in insurance premiums if any insurer can be found to cover the heralded sea level increase. According to the Coastal Management Act that the NSW Govt has gazetted, the Prime Minister would have shown no sympathy and said 'you idiots, we told you so'. Further he would have said 'your properties are now forfeited to the Crown and those of you who successfully defended your properties are now liable for a million dollar fine for doing so'! 'In addition', he would have continued,'you will have to now destroy the home you managed to save and return your property to nature at your expense'.

This is the REALITY of the current Coastal Management Plan (CMP) that Council and the Liberal Govt are promoting. If 'Climate Change' is a reality and the NSW Govt. has $4.2 Billion from the sale of Snowy Hydro, why aren't coastal councils asking the Govt for mitigating the effects of 'Climate Change' for the most valuable properties in their Shire instead of spending money on trivial things (in comparison)?

Why won't a Liberal Govt choose to spend their cash windfall protecting the most valuable properties (i.e. the coast) in NSW. Instead, their CMP stands to wipe trillions of dollars off the NSW coastal property market, based on computer models that have been proven totally wrong by the last 25 years of reality!
