Southern Phone implements disaster relief assistance

Following the devastation resulting from the Tathra bushfires, Southern Phone has donated $20,000 to the Bega Valley Shire Council’s Mayoral Appeal Fund to show their support. In addition to this, Southern Phone is matching dollar for dollar staff donations to the Fund.

During this time of hardship resulting from the fires, Southern Phone has implemented the following assistance to its customers who may be affected:

Free call diversion: if a customer’s home phone service no longer is working due to damage, Southern Phone is offering a free call diversion to a mobile or fixed line number.

Fee waiver: late fees, break of contract fees and other fees that result from a property destruction may be waived. Activation and reconnection fees may also be waived if customers seek to reconnect their services within 12 months.

Payment extension: those suffering financial hardship because of fire damage, may apply to have the due date of their bill extended.

Severe financial hardship: in situations where there is severe financial hardship due to the destruction of property, impacted customers may apply to have their bill waived.

To seek assistance with these disaster relief measures, please contact Southern Phone on 13 14 64, via online chat or email.
