We are getting closer to another National Election. Money has been freed up in an attempt to boost local economy’s and create more employment. How the National Debt is fairing who really knows though. Usually new or more jobs in the recent past have occurred in Local Public areas like Local Councils. The release of more public funds in an attempt boost local economy’s out side of metropolitan areas is not new, it’s been occurring for years. What is desperately needed is population growth with younger demographics in regional areas though. Whether the release of more public funds in regional areas will impact on age demographics and improve ratios only time will tell, but lets hope it does. The private sector generates wealth not the public sector though. Meanwhile the State Governments Office of Local Government has directed all NSW Local Councils to review their Codes of Meeting Practise. The review must include mandatory requirements of meeting procedures as determined by the State Governments office of Local Government. A bit more evidence the State Government is in control of all NSW Local Councils. The real funders of Local Council’s like the Eurobodalla Shire Council, the residents, really have little if any control of their business as is already evidenced by the recent rural lands strategy debacle amongst many other matters. The State Government wants a one size fits all.
