Your Tackle World Moruya fishing report

Moruya River

The flats fishing down the front of the system has been firing this week for both Bream and Whiting. Bassday sugapens are working best for topwater Whiting. ProLure s36 cranks slow rolled with a few twitches and pauses have produced some good bags of Bream.

Some nice Flathead have been caught around the entrance of Ryan's creek and also around the bridge on both baits, soft plastics and hardbodied lures.

The hospital rocks area has produced a few Estuary perch on Zman grubs early of the morning.

Whiting have been on the bite just up from the hospital. Fresh baits like Nippers and Beach worms have been the key to success this past week.

Tuross River

Lots of small flathead are being caught throughout the system at the moment on both soft plastics and bait. The larger one's seem to be taking more of a liking to live poddy mullet this.

Bream have been on the bite in the oyster leases. Shallow hardbodied lures like Jackson Athletes are working great and gulp nemesis soft plastics also.

Whiting are hanging around the front near the boat ramp flats but they have been hard to temp on lures. Baits like squirt worms and live yabbies should catch you a few.

Rocks and Beaches

Squid have been a little hit and miss this week but a few are still being caught around the Broulee area. Yamashita jigs have been working well.

Good schools of Tailor are still hanging around the Moruya breakwall. Half a pillie under a float is working great!

Some nice Salmon, Bream and Whiting are coming in off Windsock beach using beach worms Pillies and Prawns.

Offshore

Schools of rat kings have been spotted in close just of South heads, Pedro point area.

Windsock beach is fishing well for Flathead as usual. Pillies, squid and mullet fillets are working great!

Snapper are being caught around the Congo area on both baits and soft plastics. White gulp jerk shads are working well.

The offshore reefs are all fishing good and there is plenty of bait around.

Tight lines my friends and remember “every day’s a good day for fishing … “
