Cox and Manton win Tuross American Foursomes Veterans Golf


On yet another beautiful morning for golf a field of 64 players, including four visitors from Victoria, registered for this morning's American Foursomes event. Results on the day were as follows: 1st: Ian Manton and John Cox with a nett 32.625. 2nd: Teri and Steve Swanbury on 33.875 .3rd: Leonie Snodgrass and Dorothy Madden on 35.5. Ball or Chocolate: Les Johanson and Tim Starr together with Chris and Ian Wratten on 35.62, Jeanette and Ian Miller on 36.625, Terry Lunn and Wal Williams on 36.75, Patrick Sager and Herb Muriwai on 37, and finally Derek Hoare and Peg Nevett on 37.12. Bradman Award:The award was taken out this week by Solveig Olsson and Rene Robertson. Nearest the Pins: 4th: Gayle Macalpine. 6th: Bruce Martin. Ladies 7th: Kathy Crossling. Men's 7th: Steve Swanbury. Accuracy:Alan McLeod claimed the award this week. Next Week:The game next week will be a Stroke and Putts event with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.
