The Strides headlining the line-up for Summer Sounds at Four Winds

Saturday 27 January 2018 | 12noon – 6.30pm

Four Winds Sound Shell, Barragga Bay, NSW

(9kms south of Bermagui, Far South Coast, NSW)

A line-up of outstanding artists will perform an afternoon of exceptional music in the beautiful surrounds of the Four Winds Sound Shell outdoor amphitheatre in Barragga Bay (9kms south of Bermagui) on Saturday 27 January 2018 in an afternoon celebration of great music, fabulous local food and summer vibes.

Settle in for an afternoon of performances set to wow the crowd. The afternoon will culminate with a performance by The Strides – who will bring their truly global, diverse sound to the South Coast.

The program also features international artists performing in their own right as well as part of a collaboration put together by Four Winds Artistic Director, James Crabb just for this event. James (classical accordion) will collaborate with Yasukazu Kano, visiting Japanese Shinobue bamboo flute player, YuNiOn made up of Masae Ikegawa and Graham Hilgendorf performing percussion/taiko drum, and Bega Valley local artists David Hewitt (percussion), Kade Brown (piano), and Sam Martin (double bass).

Summer Sounds is also presenting indie-folkstress Melody Moon who hails from the Great Ocean Road and The Sweet Valentinos, a Bermagui based band lead by Michael Hanlon, who are building their reputation as one of the South Coast’s favourite bands.

“I am so incredibly excited by this year’s Summer Sounds program. This is such a dynamic mix of really talented musicians. I can’t wait to see the magic that happens when these incredible musicians take to the stage in our beautiful Four Winds outdoor Sound Shell,” says James Crabb, Artistic Director. “Summer Sounds is a way for us to continue to introduce the beauty and experience of Four Winds to the local community and visiting holiday-makers”.

Summer Sounds entwines world music, reggae, indie and folk vibes with the classical music elements that Four Winds is known and loved for.

Expect a party-like atmosphere and a truly unique live music experience set amongst the natural beauty of south coast bushland.

“We’re hoping everyone will kick off their shoes and dance the afternoon away” says James.

A great range of food and beverage options will be available throughout the afternoon including Valley Katering, Spicy Jam, Bermagui Gelati Clinic, Beardhawk Coffee, Za’s Mobile Coffee and the Four Winds Bar supplied by Bermagui Cellars.
