Our quiet achievers at Yumaro

Today is 'International Day of People with Disability - Australia.’ This is a day to celebrate the contributions and achievements of people living with a disability in our community.

Over the past 12 months Moruya's Yumaro have seen their employees astound staff with all the amazing things they have accomplished.

They continue seeing Employees work above and beyond the capacity they thought they would never achieve especially in their Learning and Lifestyle Centre.

Mark Brantingham, CEO of Yumaro: "We love seeing everyone’s smiling faces each day they come to work and look forward to helping them achieve their individual goals not just at work but personal goals as well." Meet Heidi: Heidi Jay has worked at Yumaro for many years.

This is Heidi. She has been yearning to walk around Broulee Island for a long time but unfortunately when she has the opportunity, the tide has been high and her desire to achieve her goal has had to be aborted. However at the beginning of this month, she had the opportunity when she discovered the tide was low and so she ventured out to finally complete her target of walking around Broulee Island with the help of Vicki Collins who is one of Yumaro's teachers in our new Learning and Lifestyle Centre. Heidi was so chuffed with herself and is now planning a new goal she can achieve by herself. This is Mick. Mick works in Yumaro's Home and Community Service Department where we employ people to help others who have an NDIS Plan.

Not only does he clean both of Yumaro's factories EVERY DAY but he also cleans peoples' houses from Batemans Bay to Dalmeny. "I enjoy extra work, meeting new peoples in different suburbs around the Eurobodalla." Mick is currently studying a Certificate II in Business with 10 other Yumaro Employees that will be working together to develop a proposal plan for the development and regular delivery of a SAGE Market Stall in Moruya. "I really enjoy doing this course as I learn more about how things grow." Mick is a delightful man and can engage anyone in conversation. He also is very trustworthy and Yumaro is very grateful for the wonderful job Mick has been doing over the past 9 months.

Congratulations to EVERYONE at Yumaro!

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand.
