Calling artists to join the 2018 River of Art Festival

River of Art seeks expressions of interest from artists, performers and community groups to become part of the 2018 festival. We’re calling out to local and visiting artists across all art forms. The River of Art team is especially interested in providing a springboard for early career artists, Indigenous artists and young performers.

Applications close on 7 February 2018.

For the 2018 Festival we are providing different ways to apply:

. Our exciting, revised website, at www.riverofart.com, is now live. For the first time it includes a facility to complete your Expression of Interest online. We would encourage you to use this new facility.

. Otherwise, as in previous years, you can download, fill-in and print the attached PDF and, either scan and send the filled-in form and any images by email to the new email address which we are using just for the EOIs, riverofartinc.eoi@gmail.com, or mail the filled-in form and images to our post box in Bodalla, River of Art PO 117 Bodalla 2545.

There are many ways to become involved. River of Art is keen to collaborate and partner with local arts groups, community organisations and businesses interested in hosting an event as part of the festival program.

Individual artists can also join up for festival favourites – Open Studios or Art on Parade.

  • Open Studios – presented in partnership with the Eurobodalla Shire Council – invites visitors to go behind the scenes and discover working studios across the region.

  • Art on Parade features artists exhibiting their work in local businesses, shopfronts and cafes.

Now approaching its thirteenth year, the Festival format continues to grow and evolve. In 2018, River of Art will present an exciting 4-day program from 17 to 20 May with fringe events during the surrounding weeks. The 4-day weekend will feature visual arts, music, theatre, performance, poetry, storytelling and cultural celebrations. The Festival fringe will include exhibitions, galleries, and open studios of artists who wish to extend beyond the 4- day weekend, as well as a mix of innovative workshops, music and other events.

Artists will have other opportunities to participate. In February 2018, applications will open for the prestigious River of Art 2018 Art Prize and for a new curated exhibition celebrating River of Art’s theme: Land of Many Waters.

We look forward to you participating in the 2018 River of Art Festival. Stay tuned to our website www.riverofart.com for details and follow us on Facebook.
