I thank the people of Gilmore for participating in the Same Sex Marriage Postal Survey. My position has always been that I would vote in accordance with the postal survey result in the seat of Gilmore. I welcome the outcome, a Yes vote supported by 62% of the electorate. I welcome the Prime Ministers’ commitment to have this legislated by Christmas. The Gilmore people have indicated that they want a yes vote; l will support a yes vote in the House of Representatives.
