HAVE THEY NO SHAME?

Dear Beagle Editor, HAVE THEY NO SHAME? I recently wrote to ESC’s General Manager, asking if she was intending to correct the error in council’s media release relating to council’s “national achievement” in customer service. This was because Customer Service Benchmarking Australia(CSBA) has confirmed, there were only 24 participating councils in their Mystery Shopper program for that quarter. Yet there are over 530 councils in Australia. I received the following response: (below). Make of it what you will, but no one, on God’s green earth, could possibly consider 24 out of 537 as a ‘slam dunk!’ ESC FAKE NEWS! Not content with being NUMBER ONE in the Customer Service Benchmarking Australia (CSBA) survey that declared "Council has been judged the top council in Australia for customer service general enquiries in a quarterly national benchmarking report the media release" Council are now pushing ahead with plans to be the NUMBER one in Fake News and might just take out the prize. Though they only needed to humbly accept that the headline confirmed they were the top council of only 24 participating councils in their Mystery Shopper program for that quarter the response below beleaguers belief. I want to share with Beagle readers the response Council gave to my query of their "Fake NEWS." Thank you for your email regarding the media release about the results of Council’s achievements in the quarterly national Customer Service Benchmarking Australia report. We presume you are specifically referring to the statement:‘Eurobodalla Council has been judged the top council in Australia for customer service general enquires in a quarterly benchmarking report’. As this information is correct and Council was judged the top council for that particular quarter in a national benchmarking report, we do not intend to make any public correction of the media release. The release states that the matter was announced during a Council meeting and the publically available Council report contains more detailed information and references. While our media releases are publically available on Council’s website, we primarily prepare them for use by local media organisations who are free to seek further information or clarification from Council or elsewhere before publishing or broadcasting the story. We appreciate your feedback, which I have discussed with the General Manager and my communications team as part of our commitment to continually looking for ways we can improve the service we provide. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with in regards to Council’s communications and media services. With an answer like that and a total reluctance by this Council to admit that their media release was bullsh*t and spin there is a very good chance that they will actually win the Po Faced Fake News award for 2017. God help us all. Name and address supplied

Above: Even if I am a poo I will be voting YES
