Les Johanson and Jeanette Miller: Tuross Veterans Golf Champions


On what was a beautiful spring morning a good field of 58 players teed off for this morning's Stableford event. Although the greens had been cored and sanded only days beforehand, scores on the day were remarkably high. Results were as follows:

1st: Ron Hanlon with a fine score of 23 points.

2nd: Lyn Benger with 22 points on count back.

3rd: Chris Wratten also with 22.

Ball or Chocolate:

Sandra Hanlon and Noel Downie on 21, Paul Green, Kaye Lunt, Kevin Dukes, Greg Ware and Ian Miller on 20, Bruce Martin, Gayle Macalpine and husband Ross on 19, and finally Kathy Crossling and Alan McLeod on 18 points on count back.

Bradman Award:

Solveig Olsson took out the award this week.

Nearest the Pins:

4th: Steve Swanbury - in the hole.

6th: Ian Miller.

Ladies 7th: Kathy Crossling.

Men's 7th: Ian Miller.

Accuracy:

Annette Manton took out this week's award with a fine, long drive alongside the centre string line.

Next Week:

Next week's game is an Aggregate Stroke - Secret Partners event. Registration for play is from 7.45am in the downstairs sports bar area with a shotgun start at 8.30am.

Vets Golf 2017 Championship Results:

During today's presentation the results of the Vets Golf Championships for 2017 were announced and awards presented. In the Ladies section the winner was Jeanette Miller with a two round nett score of 68 and the runner up Jennifer Gray with a two round score of 71.

For the Men, Les Johanson took out this year's honours with a two round score of 67, leading home runner up Dave Munro on 68. Congratulations to the winners, runners up and all Vets golfers who participated in what was a tightly contested event.
