Looking for host families for 2018

Its that time again and WEP Exchange students will arriving February 2nd 2018 staying from 6mths to a year.

Hosting is a wonderful way to experience another culture in the comfort of your own home while sharing your daily life and Australian culture with your exchange student. You will also be contributing to enhanced intercultural understanding and tolerance between nations. It’s an exciting time when approved WEP host families are put in contact with their exchange student prior to arrival to start their journey of welcoming a new family member.

The key features of the WEP hosting program are: • You choose the student to host: - In the WEP process, the host family selects the student they wish to host from viewing student profiles. - The next steps include completing a host family application and in-home interview by a WEP local volunteer coordinator. • What does a host family provide? Are host families paid for hosting? - Host families are100% voluntary‚ (Government regulations prevent exchange organisations like ours from reimbursing host families for hosting). - Host families provide three meals per day and a safe, caring home environment. - Students pay for all their school costs, transport, medical costs and personal spending including when on outings with their host family. • Appreciation and Adaptation - Students understand and appreciate that their host family has generously volunteered to host. - Students are expected to assist with chores, positively interact and share their culture with the host family. - The student is to adapt to the host family life and there is no expectation for the host family to significantly change their lifestyle to accommodate the student. • Links to hosting information WEP hosting brochure A4_Web1.pdf WEP Newsletter WEP Hosting Video WEP Profile Page • Ready to host?
