Walk to D-Feet MND raises over $10000

Writer's picture: The BeagleThe Beagle

Sunday 20th August 2017 saw the first Walk to D-Feet Motor Neurone Disease ND event held in Batemans Bay. Over 200 people and their pets attended the event; it was so wonderful to see walkers in their blue t-shirts and bandanas everywhere. DJ Emman from South Coast DJ’s entertained the crowd with some funky tunes, Nicky Pearson from Nicola Eugenea Photography –Makeup took some captured some amazing images and Kate from Bay Active PT warmed up the crowd before the walk.

It was lovely to see well known local Sharon Penman and her husband Phil leading the walk. Sharon has suffered from Motor Neurone Disease for many years and is an amazing and inspirational lady. It was fantastic that the community got behind this event and supported it and donated water, raffle prizes as well as their time. Women in Business were proud to be involved and held an information stall and it was great to see their members Roberlyn from Park Lane Jewellery, Julie from Lily Anne Jewellery, Megan from Vixen & Co and Belinda and her helpers from Batehaven Hardware & Garden Centre in attendance supporting this great event. Over $10,000 was raised on the day. Well done to all involved
