All talk but not much action

The Beagle Editor,

Last year, not long before the September Council Election, a couple of things occurred, one being the announcement of the purchase of the old bowling club site from the Catalina Club another being support for a new swimming pool in Batemans Bay . Then there was the (unfinished) Batemans Bay Link Rd and the state of the art airport redevelopment.

All the above and the associated announcements were designed to get the attention of voters in the shire, and they did, didn’t they? Some of the matters are still being talked about and with most very little has occurred. All the talk and all the expense associated - and what have we got for it. | Is there anything concrete for the bowling club site? No, except that we now know that it is to be demolished. At the ratepayers expense? Is there anything concrete about the pool. Not at all. The community division is very evident and that will be made clear to NSW Treasury when they come to considering the grant application. What about the airport. Maybe the Council should fess up to what the delays are. And as for the Batemans Bay Link road. It might now be sealed and looking good but guess what Council, it doesn't link to the Princes Highway and therefor isn't a LINK road. When will that intersection be built? Who knows but it isn't on the horizon with plans and funds yet is it. Verbal manipulation has been frequently associated with everything. Are they or were they all concepts that were changed with nothing productive occurring ?
