Tuross Head Women's Bowling Club Social Bowls News

Tuesday 29th August was a beautiful sunny day that enticed a total of 19 social bowlers to enjoy each other's company. Kathy Gallacher our treasurer did not play, as she was busy preparing for our Classic Pairs Tournament 1st - 3rd September.

It was wonderful to see Pam Mazzucchelli and Val Sloane back on the bowling green along with Solveig Olsen. Also good to see Lorraine Johnston, Di Fletcher and Di Challice keep returning to master the game - by all reports they are all doing very well in the short time they have been playing.

Having 18 players enabled three games of triples to take place, and judging from the laughter and light hearted " sledging" everyone enjoyed themselves. Although, we may have to bring in a fine for "unbecoming conduct", as we heard the words...." you are a little stinker" when an opponent took one of the players shot bowl out of play - no names will be given. Mind you, we do need to mention a Val Sloane wrong bias....only mistake she made all day.

Now for the games :

Doreen Monks, Irene Martin, Phyl Endall 20 defeated Denise Lidbury, Solveig Olsen and Di Challice, 14.

Rose. Farrington, Sue Fahey, Di Fletcher 21 defeated Carol Williams, Lorraine Wake, Lorraine Johnston 11.

Val Sloane, Irene Macdonald, Pam Mazzucchelli 26 defeated Chris Roxby, Fran O'Connell, Rita Downie 11.

Winners on the day was the team of Sloane, Macdonald and Mazzucchelli.

Well done to all players. There are no social bowls Tuesday 5 September - see you on the green on Tuesday 12 September.
