Dear Editor, Standard joke is councils have 10 people per shovel. That could explain why there are crews of 8-10 & 1 maybe 2 moving (oops, working). If council bought more shovels and brooms, maybe the others could also be productive and earn what they are paid for. Orient Street is beyond a joke and shows councils contempt for residents, Visitors, Businesses etc. Lack of due care and safety would not be tolerated by council yet they expect the community to suffer it. The town centre is an absolute disgrace and so way over cost due to lack of management/planning. Council and contractor vehicles and trailers are parked there all day and not being required for tools etc whilst blocking access to residents, customers etc. Expecting Elderly or disabled people to walk through the crusher dust shows blatant disregard. They would never make it in the real world where they would be held accountable and have to compete and produce. SO WHERE ARE ALL THE COUNCILLORS THAT STOOD FOR ELECTION FOR CHANGE AND TRANSPARENCY?
