While everyone enjoys the races on race day at Moruya the real winners are the community via the continued efforts of the Moruya Rotary members who cook up a storm. As always it is the hard working volunteers behind the scenes who make these events such a success and the tireless Moruya Rotary members have catered these events for many years.

And what happens to all the funds raised? In March 2017 at a joint meeting of Rotary the community saw Batemans Bay Moruya & Narooma Rotary donate 12 defibrillator units distributed across the Shire. Just on $28,000 was raised by the clubs, the Moruya Jockey Club and a District Grant. To date the Christmas Race meetings alone have seen over $50,000 donated to the Moruya Oncology Unit. This is just another example of Rotarian's making a difference in our community.
