Animal Welfare League news and Ebony would like a new home

The Animal Welfare League (Eurobodalla Branch) had their Annual General Meeting last weekend. We met for lunch prior to the meeting and were joined by the CEO, Chairman of the Board and Branch Liaison Officer from Head Office.

Above: Visiting dignitaries from AWL Head Office, our new Branch Secretary and our President Gabe The reason for telling you this is that it was a fun afternoon with laughter and friendship and a mutual love of animals. We all have different reasons for belonging to the Animal Welfare League (apart from that love of animals), some of us enjoy organising fund raising events; some of us are fantastic at talking to the public, consoling a grieving animal owner or helping a young family choose a new pet. We are lucky that some of us are excellent at being Secretary of the Branch, Treasurer of the Branch and administration is second nature. Others prefer to sit at Moruya Market, Narooma Market, PetStock or at a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, sell a few raffle tickets and chat to passers by about their pets. Whatever your strengths, or even if you don’t think you have any, we would certainly welcome new members so please get in touch with us.

Once again we don’t have any dogs to re-home. We would love to find some carers for bigger dogs and would also like to find someone who would like to be a kitten carer. We pay for your expenses and it is a very rewarding thing to do.

We have 8 kittens and several cattens and fully grown cats who would love a new home. If you can help or would like to join us, please call Elaine on 0410 016 612. The AWL promotes responsible pet ownership and all our animals ready for adoption have been vet checked, microchipped, vaccinated and de-sexed. The Eurobodalla RSPCA is looking for a home for Ebony. She is 5 years old, and was surrendered because her owner died. She's a little timid at first, but very affectionate once she becomes used to people, and would suit a quiet household. If you would like to meet Ebony or have any questions please call 0424 228 425
