THE $580 million Berry Bypass was officially opened to traffic at 8:30pm Thursday 13th July by Gareth Ward MP for Kiama, Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra and South Coast and Education Gareth, as a man of the times unofficially opened the bypass to traffic live on Facebook as one now does on such auspicious occasions saying "Before we do - thank you to all the wonderful workers on this project - Fulton Hogan, RMS, subcontractors - you have been brilliant! This project has opened 12 months early because of your diligence and skill! Well done!12 months ahead of schedule."
