Greg Ware wins Tuross Head Country Club stableford competition


Golfers enjoyed a continuation of the mild, sunny Autumn weather with a stableford competition at the Tuross Head Country Club last Saturday.

Greg Ware emerged as an easy winner with a creditable score of 38 points.

Sussex Inlet visitor Nigel Watler was second with 36 points followed by Ray Bollard 34, Colin Houghton 33, Reginald Apps 33 and Wayne Temporali 32.

Nearest the pin winners were;

A grade player Dave Bray won the 4th hole with 4.10 m.

Dave Schmid was best on the 6th with a very close 0.87 m and

Tim Watson was closest on the 7th hole with 3.24 m.

B grade: Marty booth was awarded the 4th hole with 3.91 m. and

Paul Scholze won the 6th with 6.80 m.

C grade golfer Des Jackson won the 4th hole with 3.50 m.

Steve Hodge was the best on the 6th with 6.80 m and

Ross Hendy was closest on the long par 3 7th with 13.50 m.

THCC Thursday medley competition was won by Ian McManus with 35 points ahead of Peter Nikolic and Peter McRae both on 33 and Steve Swanbury 31.

Nearest the pins were awarded to: Steve Swanbury on the 4th with 2.68 m.

Glen Shearer on the 6th with 0.91 m and

Colin Houghton won the 7th with 9.22 m.
