Can I fly there? - Drone safety app

With so many drones in the air....

The 'Can I fly there?' drone safety app is now live.

The app is an excellent safety awareness tool for all drone flyers, detailing nearby airports, helicopter landing sites, controlled airspace and restricted areas.

Available for download on Android and iOS devices at

Not sure about where you can fly your drone?

CASA have teamed up with Drone Complier to produce an easy-to-use smartphone app illustrating where you’re not allowed to fly. The free safety app shows Australians with sub 2kg commercial drone flyers where they can and can’t fly their drone. It is also a valuable safety awareness tool for all drone flyers. It highlights controlled airports, helicopter landing areas, restricted airspace, danger areas, and includes the drone standard operating conditions.

These areas include within 5.5km of controlled aerodromes, in approach and departure paths of non-controlled aerodromes and helicopter landing sites, as well as in restricted or military airspace. The app also highlights ‘caution’ areas around unregistered aerodromes where aircraft could be flying.

The ‘Can I fly there?’ drone safety app reflects the standard operating conditions for those flying their drone commercially (under the excluded category of commercial operations) and is a valuable educational and situational awareness tool for both commercial and recreational drone flyers.
