At the recent MACS Easter exhibition, the Montague Art and Craft Society awarded money back to the Narooma Community through grants. These grants were awarded to different groups and projects including:
$2,000 to Narooma High School - to pay for percussion instruments which were used to play at the Easter Exhibition.
$1,500 to Narooma Public School - which is being used for seating around their new hall and for a Buddy Seat.
$1,000 to Narooma Pre-School - which is being used to upgrade their sandpit.
$950 to Narooma VRA - towards glass management equipment.
$250 to the Order of Australia Committee - towards money for a student from this area to travel on the Young Endeavour.
The Narooma Visitor Information Centre Lighthouse profile is easy to spot as you enter Narooma. Inside there is an interesting historical museum with the original light lens from the Montague Island Lighthouse. Information on the wreck of the S.S. Bodalla, sunk in 1924 off the Narooma Bar, is accompanied by artefacts from the wreck.
