Tuross Head men's golf results Saturday April 29


On a day, when mild sunny autumn weather, encourages golfers to get out onto the course Paul Ferguson took full advantage of the ideal conditions and won the Saturday stableford competition with a score of 40 points.

He was closely followed by Allen Gannon with 39 points with Russell Taylor finishing in third place on a countback.

David Schmid also on 39 points and Colin Fletcher, 38 points, filled the remaining award spots.

Bruce Brawn had the satisfaction of scoring an eagle on the second par 4 hole.

Nearest the pin winners were:

A grade players: Leigh Coloe on the 4th hole with 0.83 m.

Ian Wark was closest on the 6th with 1.19 m and

Paul Fergusson was the best on the 7th hole with 7.9 m.

B grade golfer Lance Shadbolt won the 4th with 3.02. and

Glen Shearer won the 6th with 2.44 m.

C grader Ross Hendy was awarded the 4th hole with 4.80 m.

Bruce Brawn was best on the 6th with 0.89 m and

Steve Johnston won the 7th with 13.00 m.

The coming Saturday event is the Scoty stableford round.

Thursday medal competition was won by Dave Schmid with 36 points followed by Colin Houghton 34 points,

Peter Garn and Trevor Jones both on 33 points.

Nearest the pins were won by Ron Rogers on the 4th with 4.70m, and Ron also was closest on the 6th hole with 0.89 m.

Colin Houghton won the 7th hole with 8.20 m.
