Heritage grants now available for Eurobodalla homeowners

Writer: The BeagleThe Beagle

Owners of heritage properties in Eurobodalla can apply for grants to help them restore their pride and joy.

Council has grants up to $5,000 available for projects that will enhance historic homes and other buildings and enhance the shire’s heritage streetscapes.

Council offers the Local Heritage Places Grant program every year to raise awareness of heritage conservation, with a funding contribution from the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.

Successful applicants will need to contribute one dollar for every dollar provided by the grant, and the restoration work must be completed before May 2018.

Last year Council was able to help fund replacement of the roof on a heritage-listed shop in Mogo, roof and guttering repairs at Bodalla Post Office gallery, and repairs and exterior painting of two historic churches - St Nicholas in Nelligen and Holy Trinity (Open Sanctuary) in Tilba.

To apply or find out more about the Local Places Heritage Grants guidelines, please visit www.esc.nsw.gov.au or phone Council’s Strategy and Heritage Planner Steve Halicki on 02 4474 1324.

Applications close 2pm, Friday 9 June 2017. Media Release
