Safety To Be Improved At Hughes Street Intersection Batemans Bay

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Princes Highway at Batemans Bay from next week to improve safety at the Hughes Street intersection.

The NSW Government has allocated $50,000 to install a concrete median on Hughes Street, new line marking and new signs.

Work at the T-intersection will improve safety for motorists turning right out of Hughes Street and onto the Princes Highway by improving the sight distance for motorists.

The hold line from Hughes Street will be moved forward.

Work will be carried out between 9am and 3pm on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 May, weather permitting.

During work hours Hughes Street will be closed at the Princes Highway for right turns into Hughes Street and all turns out of Hughes Street. Left turns into Hughes Street will remain in place.

Detours will be in place via Gregory and South streets and Old Princes Highway.

Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience while work is carried out.
