Rotary cook up a storm at the Easter races.

Easter Saturday proved lucky to jockey Kayla Nisbet winning the AMH Auto Group Easter Cup on Moruya trained Rushman, owned and trained by James Curtis. The 7 year old gelding won by a good length over Excellent Oratorio, Cliff and Shoulder Charge on what was a well presented turf track. Saturday's 2017 Easter Cup at Moruya Jockey Club was very well attended and the increased numbers of holiday punters took advantage of the Easter feel to dress up. As always the main winners on the day were the hard working volunteers who make these events such a success including the tireless Moruya Rotary members who cater at these events.

The March 2017 joint meeting of Rotary saw Batemans Bay Moruya & Narooma Rotary donate 12 defibrillator units distributed across the Shire. Just on $28,000 was raised by the clubs, the Moruya Jockey Club and a District Grant. To date the Christmas Race meetings have seen over $50,000 donated to the Moruya Oncology Unit. This is just another example of Rotarian's making a difference in our community.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
