River of Art prize entries now open


The River of Art Festival now welcomes entries from artists for the 2017 Art Prize. River of Art River of Art is a 10 day festival of live music, theatre, film, visual arts, literature, creative workshops and cultural experiences held along the picturesque NSW far south coast. This area extends between Durras Lake in the north and Bermagui in the south. River of Art celebrates the abundance of creative practitioners living in and complementing the beautiful environment of the Eurobodalla.

Artists across artistic mediums and living on the NSW South Coast are invited to be part of this exciting regional competition, proudly supported by our sponsor Framed by Tracey. Entries should be submitted by 26 April for a chance to win a $1,500 prize and the opportunity to exhibit your work at the SoART Gallery in Narooma for the duration of the festival. The prize will be awarded to the artist of the winning work as selected by a panel of local judges. The winner will be announced on 23 May 2017 at an evening function at the the SoART Gallery, with the exhibition of finalists and the ultimate winner running throughout the River of Art festival from 19-28 May.

Finalists’ entries will be exhibited throughout the River of Art festival from May 19-28.


Important dates for artists submitting entries include:

26 April – deadline for the submission of entry forms

9 May – Art Prize finalists will be notified

19-28 May – Exhibition of all Art Prize finalists at SoART Gallery, Princes Highway, Narooma

23 May at 6pm – announcement of River of Art 2017 Art Prize winner at the SoArt Gallery, Narooma.
