Tuross Head Country Club veteran golfers Wednesday March 22


Under clear skies a field of 54 players teed off this morning for a Single Stableford event, the game also being round 1 of the Elaine Jennings trophy for lady players. Results for the day are as follows: 1st: Col Fletcher with a great score of 22 points. 2nd: Steve Swanbury with another good score of 21. 3rd: Chris Wratten on 20 points after a three way count back. Ball or Chocolate: Kay McLeod and Gail Rogers on 20, Des Jackson and John Cox on 18, Greg Smith on 17, Lance Shadbolt, Wal Williams, Gayle Macalpine, Henry Anderson and Errol Soden all on 16 points, followed by David Williams and Ross Macalpine on 15 points after a five way count back was required. The Bradman's award was won this week by Solveig Olsson. Nearest to Pins: 4th: Ken Brown. 6th: Greg Smith. Ladies 7th: Leonie Snodgrass. Men's 7th: Lance Shadbolt. The Accuracy award on the 5th hole was won by Kay McLeod. For lady players competing for the Elaine Jennings trophy, the leading three players after round 1 are Chris Wratten, Kay McLeod and Gail Rogers all on 20 points. Round 2 will be played on 26 April 2017. Next week's event is an Aggregate Stroke - Secret Partners game with registration in the downstairs sports bar area from 7.45am and a shotgun start at 8.30am.
