MACQUARIE PASS TO CLOSE FOR INVESTIGATION WORK
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on Macquarie Pass this Thursday for investigation and essential maintenance work to improve safety for road users.
After heavy rain last week lead to the closure of the Pass on Thursday night and all day Friday, geotechnical investigations will be carried out on the slope and drainage infrastructure to determine future work which may be required.
For work to be carried out safely and efficiently, Macquarie Pass will be closed between 9am and 3pm on Thursday 23 March.
Light vehicles can detour via Jamberoo Mountain Road and motorists should allow an extra 10 minutes travel time from Robertson to Albion Park.
Heavy vehicles will be detoured via the Hume Motorway, Picton Road and the M1 Princes Motorway and motorists travelling from the Hume Highway to Albion Park should allow an extra 30 minutes travel time.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
