Free Professional Development Session for School & Music Teachers

Music Inspired by the Natural Environment | with David Hewitt

Thursday 30 March 2017, 4.30 - 6.30pm, Windsong Pavilion, Four Winds Rd, Bermagui

Designed to provide fresh ideas for the classroom and music lessons, this interactive session will develop participants skills in extracting musical material and inspiration from the natural environment in ways both educational and fun for students. The session will be presented by Bega local, David Hewitt, on March 30th, 4.30-6.30pm, in the beautiful Four Winds Windsong Pavilion, just south of Bermagui.

David, a member of Musica Viva in School’s ensemble - Zeek, is an internationally renowned percussionist, vocalist, composer, improviser, educator and currently the Artistic Director of Bega's Stonewave Taiko group.

The Professional Development is aimed at generalist, specialist and relief school teachers. Teachers offering private music tuition within our community are also most welcome. Importantly, the class is fully accredited by the Department of Education.

The afternoon will be revitalizing and inspiring, helping participants see and hear once again through the eyes and ears of a child - the wonder of plants, birds, animals, the sea, sky and clouds. Enjoy the interconnectedness of music in nature in the beautiful Four WindsWindsong Pavilion.
