Caravãna Sun - Pure Madnes Festival 2015 Following the release of their critically acclaimed third album Guerrilla Club and over 150 shows around the world in 2016 Caravãna Sun have returned this year, exposed and upfront, wearing their hearts on their sleeves with the release of “Whale Song”. Breaking down barriers of artist and audience, this raw performance began its journey in the hearts of feelers, lovers and believers, already garnering over 25,000 plays on Spotify alone. Written in the early hours of the morning on a 100-year-old piano belonging to bassist/vocalist Ant Beard’s grandmother, “Whale Song” is a heartfelt and solemn ode to migration, change and movement for one to become fearlessly themselves. Honest, real, and raw in an age of over-saturation, the energetic single bares all. “Whale Song is the movement of becoming ones self. Coming to terms with how I feel has always been a challenge and this song is a call to be fearless in feeling and most of all, to be fearlessly myself. I was craving something real and honest, and I found it beneath the waves harnessed by the courage of the whale.” - Ant Beard The raw emotion of “Whale Song” has been captured beautifully in the bands latest video featuring Ant Beard playing his grandmothers piano by candle light, completely live and uncut. Watch the video below courtesy of Musicfeeds.com Recorded at Wasteland Studios in WA alongside Eskimo Joe guitarist Joel Quatermain, 27 days locked in a studio later and Caravãna Sun emerged with Guerrilla Club, a polished piece of art and an even more explosive live show thanks to the band’s second to none work ethic. "Joel worked us hard and encouraged us to develop more of a groove based record rather than trying to directly represent our live sound. It resulted in the most contemporary sounding record we have made but it still delves through retrospective angles.” - Luke Carra It’s been a long and well-earned journey from conception to elevation for Caravãna Sun, with the band clocking in over 500 shows from all corners of the globe over the last five years. After recently wrapping up their huge 23 date national tour the band are set to continue performing, living and breathing what Guerrilla Club is all about; their love for Australia and its culture. Proudly presented by Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, “The Whale Song Tour” kicked off at the Byron Bay Surfing Festival on February 24th and now see’s the band hitting stages around Australia and New Zealand. The band will be donating $5 per merchandise item to Sea Shepherd during the tour, marking the beginning of an ongoing relationship between Caravãna Sun and the not-for-profit organisation. I have never come across such selfless devotion and tenacity towards protecting our ocean. We are honoured to be working alongside Sea Shepherd this tour and eternally grateful for everything they have done and continue to do for all life on our beautiful planet. Full power to you, our beloved Sea Shepherds!” - Ant Beard
