The Eurobodalla Renal Support Group & Organ Donor Awareness Acknowledges Kidney Health Week 2017 5th – 11th March This week at our usual “Find Out Friday” from The Bridge Plaza we shall also be hosting Blood Pressure Checks for all in our community. The Blood Pressure’s shall be done by Robyn Renal Outreach Nurse from 10.30am to 1.30pm There will be hand out information from Kidney Health Australia or go on line at www.kidney.org.au to find out more. Kidney Health Week is the biggest time of the year for raising local and national awareness about kidney health. In previous years it’s been held in May and has enjoyed great success in getting the kidney health message out to the broader public – with so many of you helping, volunteering your time and sharing your stories. To create an even greater impact in 2017, Kidney Health Australia is aligning Kidney Health Week with World Kidney Day, which falls on Thursday 9 March. Kidney Health Week will run from 5–11 March. This year we share the World Kidney Day theme of 'Kidney Disease and Obesity – Healthy Lifestyle for Healthy Kidneys'. Kidney Health Australia have produced a report that highlights evidence linking obesity to the development of CKD, kidney stones, and kidney cancer.
