Tuross Head Rural Fire Brigade News
TUROSS HEAD RURAL FIRE BRIGADE
After a quiet start, this fire season is beginning to produce its fair share or surprises. Which is the perfect time to launch a recruitment drive for new members!
In the past month, crews from Tuross have been involved in three strike teams that have headed off to fires burning in other regions in urgent need to assistance. A Tuross crew also joined a multi-agency missing person search. So while Eurobodalla has been quiet on the fire front so far this season, lots has been happening!
You don't have to be super fit and running marathons - although if you are, there's plenty to do! We need willing volunteers to man the fire trucks as fire fighters, first aiders, radio operators and drivers.
But we also need admin personnel if you feel that climbing in and out of a fire truck on the fire ground is not for you. There are many, many support roles, equally important to support those in the trucks. Base station radio operators, fund raising, catering, community engagement and education are also vital roles our volunteers cover.
So if you feel it's time to "put something back" into the community, we'd love to see you. The brigade trains each Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00pm at the fire shed in Drake Street, near the water tanks. Come and have a chat!
