South East Harvest in Moruya Apr 1st


We are thrilled to be collaborating and co-creating with with our local Walbunja People – the first farmers in this region – for our upcoming festival. Join us on Saturday 1st April to learn from a diverse collection of speakers, including Bruce Pascoe, on our theme: “First Farmers to Future Harvests". SAGE South East Harvest Festival First Farmers to Future Harvests Saturday 1st April, 2017 Moruya Showgrounds Pavilion & grounds PAVILION Program - MC - Stuart Whitelaw. Moderator -Ian Campbell WALBUNJA ARTEFACT display - at the rear (opposite end to stage) of the Pavilion, arranged and supervised by Cobowra Local Aboriginal Land Council. 9.30 Opening - SAGE President, Catherine Potter. 9.35 Welcome to Country, Welcome Smoking Ceremony, knowledge sharing with Lee-Anne Parsons, Walbunja Senior Woman & CEO Cobowra Local Aboriginal Land Council and Walbunja/Gumbayggirr Man, Bindarray jiibiny. 10.30 - 11.15 TEA break Move outside with Bindarray jiibiny for Nerringundah Storytelling & Dance 11.30 Bruce Pascoe - 'In Conversation'. Sharing of knowledge with Senior Bunurong/Yuin man, award winning author of "Dark Emu, Black Seeds: agriculture or accident'. 12.15 - Colouring competition presentation. - Pavilion Verandah. 12.20 LUNCH break - Outside Program as per page 2. 1.00 John Newton Presentation and discussion - Incorporating Traditional food knowledge and use into contemporary cuisine. 1.45 – 2.45 Wrap up PANEL - Bruce Pascoe, John Newton, LeeAnne Parson, Bindarray jiibiny , local organic farmer, Katie from Southlands. 3 pm - Door Prizes & Raffle prizes drawn & Close. Outside - Showground activities . 10 am - Children's activities 10.30 am - Sharing of knowledge and dance with Bindarray jiibiny Nerrigundah Storytelling and Dance. 11.30 am - Children's activities. 12.15 Chook Tractors 12.30 Natural Beekeeping ALL DAY - Food providers, mini displays, demonstration backyard growing, local schools activities, local farmers produce, and more. - Keynote Speakers books (Bruce Pascoe & John Newton) available at the Moruya Books stand. - Cobowra Aboriginal Land Council stall with displays, have a yarn, gather information. - Council - composting display

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand.
