Tuross Golf roundup - Jan 29th

A pleasant breeze kept the temperature, at a comfortable level, while we battled our challenging but delightful little course; some of us managed the task of a Par round a lot better than others.

One such person was our winner with an impressive +5 Michael Hogan, coming in a close second was a member who left us for a few years but has returned to the fold, Bruce Cleeve on +4 guess we need to rain in his handicap, since he’s been away he’s had it to easy. Third on +2 was our old war horse Gerry Strickland, pushing Steven Swanbury also on +2 into Fourth spot, filling the fifth and final place for today’s event Sponsored by Mick Elfar, was Mick Walsh on +1.

It was a smaller field than the last few weeks with 53 starters, most people opting to rest up before next weeks monthly medal. The ball comp went down to -1

Thursday comp a single Mixed Single Stableford event had an impressive 39 starters, the event continues to grow, it’s taken 6 years to get it to this point and now we have a full time sponsor in Cameron Hardware it can only continue to thrive.

Winners on Australia days event Was David Schmid on 40pts beating out Trevor Jones also on 40 pts, third place went to Mark Haberkorn on 38pts, pushing myself David Gray into fourth Place with 38pts.
