Tomakin Fishing Club news - Jan '17

G'day folks. The fishing club's January monthly competition was a little light in attendance due to poor weather on the water and also that time of year when most are off spending time with family. However we did not let this stop us having fun, enjoying a good BBQ and being sociable. You will notice that some of our juniors who attended on the Sunday received their sponsored items from the very generous SOUTH COAST SMASH REPAIRS in Batemans Bay. This month they received Shimano floppy hats which are a great addition to the face buffs from last month's competition especially considering it is summer time.

We also have to mention Anthony from Compleat Angler Batemans Bay who really looks after the fishing club, he keeps an eye out on great deals that our sponsors can pass on to our many juniors. On with the results. Out of the Bag was 1. Whiting, 2. Game fish and 3. Bream. 1. Whiting was awarded to Phil Boneham with a whiting of 250 grams 2. None caught. 3. Bream was awarded to Andrew Tinsley with a Bream of 490 grams. The Junior Cock of the Walk for January went to Tom Cargill with a Morwong of 1.340 kilo. The Spearfishing Cock of the Walk went to Ben Gordon with 294 points and a solid bag of fish at that. The Rock, Beach and Estuary Cock of the Walk went to Sam Chambers with a horse of a Silver Drummer weighing in at 2.690 kilo. The Blue Water Cock of the Walk went to Brian Bennett with a Morwong of 990 grams. The Overall winner Cock of the Walk for January 2017 is Sam Chambers with his solid Drummer. The Tomakin Fishing Club is moving forward quickly on its new restructuring plan to bring the club into the 21st Century. A new website in the works, the clubs trip away in March visiting our friends at the Narooma Sports and Gamefishing Club, the Rae Kennedy Memorial Fishing Competition in April, new monthly social meets and revival of the Huskisson/Jervis Bay Fishos interclub shield too just to name a few things we are working on out of dozens on our restructure plan. So now is a great time to join the fishing club. We really hope to see you at the next monthly competition to be held on the 5th of February. Don't forget we have all our juniors sponsored by great local businesses with a fantastic little prizes. For more information visit the Tomakin Fishing club's Facebook page or call myself on 0418570131. Looking forward to see you there, President Adam Martin.
